Resident as Team Teacher, Learner, Educator, Diagnostician (RATTLED)
The RATTLED program was developed by Dr. Michael Giuliano as an anticipatory program to begin the process of developing teaching and learning skills amongst residents throughout the Hackensack Meridian network. RATTLED emphasizes life-long/self-directed learning; improving clinical teaching; familiarizing residents with our EPA/EPOs; organizing professional growth and optimizing feedback; and reducing diagnostic error. The program thus far has been offered via a dual track – first with introductory presentations to educate residents on the various learning principles, and second via a “train the trainer” dynamic, wherein RATTLED resident champions develop and facilitate 6-part workshops within their respective departments amongst residents.
